Indirect Service: No direct contact with recipients of service is expected.  Volunteers help furthering the mission of the organizations.  


Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity Seeks help on construction sites, doing new home construction or rehab on existing homes that includes weatherization and minor repairs (see Critical Home Repair).  Help also needed on committees, with various tasks in the Habitat office, and at the Habitat Renovation Station.

Oklahoma Cleats for Kids: Local nonprofit that collects and distributes sports shoes, clothes and equipment to kids in need. Cleats for kids is looking for volunteers to help with inventory, getting sports goods ready for the kids, delivering the goods, or with events.  Contact Casady graduate Lawre Everest lawre@okcleatsforkids.org

Over 675,000 Oklahomans are at risk of going hungry every day.  One in four children in Oklahoma struggles with hunger. Of households experiencing hunger, less than 20 percent are classified as unemployed. More than one-third are disabled and/or retired, while the remaining 46 percent have at least one working member. More people are enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as the Food Stamp Program, than any other time in Oklahoma's history and unemployment is at a five-year high. The Food Bank has a variety of opportunities for children ages 8 years old and older.  Arrive 1/2 hour ahead of starting shift. Morning Shift: 9-12 Afternoon Shift 1-4. Rebuilding Together   Rebuilding Together, a 501(c) 3 organization, rebuilds lives and neighborhoods by making homes safe, warm, and dry for low-income senior citizens in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. Through our Year-Round Emergency Repair / Home Modification Program and our annual "Rebuilding Day" Program, we provide free home repairs, emergency home repairs and home modifications that foster safer mobility and independence, changing the lives of our elderly neighbors every day.  Martin Park Nature Center: Green Earth Rangers Sundays from 2pm until 5pm  The Rangers will learn about habitat requirements while benefiting the park with the projects they design. The program is:
1st meeting of the month: Review of 4-H material Wildlife Habitat Evaluation Program (WHEP) which is free and available on the internet.
2nd meeting of the month. Participants will do further research and with guidance design a project based on the habitat concept they learned.
3rd and 4th meeting of the month. Implementation of the project.

In 2013, Oklahoma ranks 3rd in the nation for number of women killed by men.  In 2012, Oklahoma ranked 17th.   

October 8th, 2013 eat at S& B Burger Joint, 10% of the proceeds will be donated to the YWCA capital campaign.
