Points of Light's Action Networks allow us to reach distinct groups with the tools and resources they need to engage people as change agents. These include: HandsOn Network, the largest network of 250 local volunteer centers across the country and around the world; generationOn, the youth service movement that ignites the power of kids to make their mark on the world; AmeriCorps Alums, the national service alumni network that activates the next generation of service leaders; and Points of Light Corporate Institute, our enterprise that enables companies to engage their employees and customers in volunteer service.

To inspire, equip, and mobilize youth to take action that changes the world and themselves through service.

GenerationOn is the global youth service movement igniting the power of all kids to make their mark on the world. As the youth division of Points of Light Institute, generationOn has brought the nation's leading youth service organizations and programs under one umbrella including New York-based Children for Children, The League, Learning to Give, Points of Light Institute's Kids Care Clubs, HandsOn Schools, and HandsOn Network's youth-driven programs. By partnering with teachers, parents, schools, community organizations and businesses, generationOn gives kids the opportunity to see firsthand the issues in their communities and the tools and resources they need to respond and become part of the solution.
GenerationOn was built on the foundation created by Children for Children, a nonprofit founded by Silda Wall Spitzer that created opportunities for young people from all backgrounds to Grow Involved through volunteering and service-learning programs that instilled a lifelong commitment to service.

The Shinnyo-en Foundation helps build more caring communities by supporting educational programs that engage and inspire young people in meaningful acts of service.

Teaching children the value of helping others in the spirit of goodwill and without regard to differences of faith or background.  Six Billion Paths to Peace is an effort to inspire people to focus on our interconnectedness and reflect upon the individual contributions that each of us is making to a toward  harmonious world. By providing financial support and resources, the Foundation partners with non-profit organizations that share our vision for bringing out the best in ourselves, our children and our communities

Who We Are: We love teens. They are creative, active, wired…and frustrated that our world is so messed up. DoSomething.org harnesses that awesome energy and unleashes it on causes teens care about. Almost every week, we launch a new national campaign. The call to action is always something that has a real impact and doesn’t require money, an adult, or a car. With a goal of 5 million active members by 2015, DoSomething.org is one of the largest organizations in the US for teens and social change. Join us.

We: Believe in young people

  1. Young people have the power to lead. We don't require old people!
  2. Trust young people. We provide reliable, easy-to-access information and activation strategies, but young people decide for themselves what to do.
  3. Celebrate young people. We think all measurable contributions from young people are valuable.
  4. Respect young people. We understand that young people have diverse abilities and constraints.
  5. Value young people. Our programs and products are free. We're not after young people's money; we want their passion, time, and creativity.
