Children's Garden Festival: Winnie the Pooh Sign up and win tickets!

Friday, June 8 - Sunday, June 17 Various shift times (Groups of 5 or more please contact ldennis@myriadgardens.org or 405-445-7089 to register) Join us for our sixth annual Children's Garden Festival! Volunteers will assist guests at the entry gate as they step into the world of Winnie the Pooh, help with games in Tigger's Game Zone, play with kiddos at the sensory bins in Rabbit's Garden, help kids 'build a bear" in the 100 Acre Wood and more. It takes more than 400 volunteers to make this magical event happen, so we need your help! Weekends are particularly busy and we need a lot of extra hands to keep things running smoothly. Please consider volunteering and bringing your family, friends, or coworkers to volunteer with us. We especially need help for shifts on June 9, 10, 11, 16, and 17. Winnie the Pooh Sensory Night Friday, June 8 5:15-8pm 25 volunteers This event provides a more controlled and welcoming environment to experience our Children’s Garden Festival. No loud music and smaller crowds, perfect for families with children with special needs. Volunteers will assist with games, crafts, Build a Bear, sensory stations and other activities during the event.

Evening in the 100 Acre Wood Saturday, June 16 5:15-8:30pm 25 volunteers Guests will visit Winnie the Pooh after hours to explore the Children’s Garden as the sun sets in the background. Volunteers are encouraged to dress as their favorite character to get in the spirit. Throughout the evening we will be playing The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh short stories on the Children’s Garden porch for everyone to enjoy. Volunteers will assist with games and activities.

Dancing in the Gardens

Friday, June 1 6:30-11pm 5 volunteers We kicked the season off with Salsa Night in May with over 3000 visitors, and will follow up with Bollywood Night in June. Our Seasonal Plaza is transformed into a dance floor. Beginning at 7 p.m. we will have dance demos and FREE lessons for all. Various themed activities will take place both nights. Volunteers will assist with setup/tear down, games, and booths inside the Park House.

Full Moon Bike Ride and Run Tuesday, May 29 Recurring Monthly 6:15-10pm 6 volunteers Our favorite health and wellness activity is back! Guests will bring their bike and meet up for a leisurely one-hour ride and runners will join in a 5K led by OK Runner. Ride OKC will have their trailer onsite for people to rent bikes.Volunteers will assist with waivers, check in, giving out t-shirts and water and more.

Myriad Garden's Summer Solstice Thursday, June 21 7-10pm 20 volunteers Celebrate the longest day of the year and onset of summer in the Gardens. Volunteers will assist with a variety of activities including free yoga, the Full Moon Bike Ride and Run, a community mandala, and acoustic guitar performance. Children’s activities include making butterfly wings, a sun catcher fortune teller, and face painting.

Our May Partner Volunteer Training will be held on May 21 from 6-7pm. If you are willing to commit 36 hours a year, incentives include reduced rates on memberships, special events, education classes, and more!
